Graduation and End of Year Mass

June 22, 2023

By School

We celebrated our End of Year Mass and 6th Class Graduation on Tuesday evening (20th June). Our evening began with mass in Cloneen Church celebrated by Fr. Lambe. The mass opened with our children singing a beautiful hymn and the ceremony was introduced by some of our 6th Class pupils. Pupils from all classes read, brought gifts to the altar and served at the mass. Towards the end of the mass, some of the 6th Class pupils shared their fondest (and most embarrassing!!) moments from their time in Cloneen NS. They had the congregation in fits of laughter! Just before the Recessional Hymn, the 6th Class Graduates were presented with Graduation Certificates and Class of 2023 Medals by their teacher Ms. Kiernan and Ms. Kiersey too.

After the mass, we all went back to the school where refreshments were served by the Parents’ Association and pupils, staff, parents and members of the community gathered. There were cakes and chats, music and children dancing, football and playground games. 6th Class were presented with a beautiful Graduation Cake with their class picture on it. Adults and children enjoyed a fun-filled evening and with memories of a very enjoyable occasion.

We had a very worthwhile visit from the Road Safety Authority today. They set up a safety village in our hall for all our classes and we learned a huge amount about how we can be safe on our roads as a pedestrian, cyclist and passenger.
