School Student Committees

We have a very active Students’ Council in our school. Every year, each class group elects a member of their class to the Students’ Council. The council come together for frequent meetings and share the thoughts, ideas and concerns of their classmates with the committee and organising teacher. It’s a great way for the student voice in our school to be heard.

Our very active school has a very active Active School Committee. They are full of enthusiasm and ideas about providing sports and activities that cater for the interests of all the children in the school. They also help to organise Active School Week each year.

In September 2022, we were accepted onto the Gaelbhratach Programme which is an initiative of Gael Linn in order to promote spoken Gaeilge in school. We endeavour to use spoken Gaeilge throughout the school day and incorporate it into other curricular areas. Our committee have come up with so many fantastic ideas around the use of Gaeilge in our school.

Our Green Schools Committee are passionate about the environment and for our school to do everything we can to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as well as help to preserve our planet in many different ways including biodiversity. We are working towards our Biodiversity Flag this year. As biodiversity is such a hot-topic at the moment, it’s fantastic for the children to be involved in this.
